United States Air Force Academy "Air Gardens" - Digital Rendering by Joel Gray

This is one of a series of renderings I created for landscape architects Thomas and Thomas. The Air Gardens, located on the eastern side of the Terrazzo square, are a series of reflecting pools and sunken planting beds with labyrinth-like walkways dividing the site. Originally designed by modernist landscape architect, Dan Kiley, the Air Gardens are illustrated here to show the site restored to it's original design intent while using updated materials and construction techniques resistant to the harsh climate of the Colorado Rocky Mountain region.

Landscape Architect, Dan Kiley, designed the "Air Gardens" to be experienced both from the ground and as seen from the sky above.
